Delta 8 THC is not the same as delta 9 THC. Delta 9 is the dominant compound in marijuana and is found in about 0.3% of the hemp plant. Delta 8 is degraded delta 9, meaning that it’s the result of the delta-9 compound aging in the plant material. When delta9 is naturally converted into delta-8, it changes on a molecular level to take on new properties. Delta8 is also an isomer to d9, meaning it contains the same molecules, but they are organized in a different manner.
